Our Story

Thanks for stopping by!

Legerski's Sausage Co. is proud to continue on producing quality sausages from family recipes that have been handed down for 3 generations from Grandfather to Grandson.

The Legerski family has been in the meat business from the early 1900's.

The Legerski story starts back in Silesia, Poland in 1897 when George J. Legerski was born. He immigrated to the United States in 1914 at the age of 17. George came to Acme, Wyoming to work as a butcher and worked in the area until 1925. From 1931-1954 he owned Georges' Market, a grocery and meat market in Sheridan, Wyoming with George Urbaczka. In 1963 George's sons, George W., Roman and John purchased the Sheridan Meat Company and eventually developed business in Southern Montana and Northern Wyoming supplying the communities with a variety of sausages and meat. After the closing of Sheridan Meat Company, the three brothers carried on the tradition in different ways. Jimmy Legerski began working with his uncle George from 2000-2012. At which time he took over the business and changed the name to Legerski's Sausage Co., LLC. Today Jimmy is the 3rd generation in the family to carry on the trade of sausage making.
